After his residency, Dr. Chao specialized in general surgery and became the Chief Resident, General Surgery at The St. Mary’s Hospital – Yale Univeristy School of Medicine. After that, Dr. Chao decided to focus his efforts on plastic and cosmetic surgery attending a Plastic Surgery Residency at The University of Texas at San Antonio, TX and then a Cosmetic Surgery Fellowship at the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.
Due to his unique skills and experience in general surgery and plastic and cosmetic surgery, Dr. Chao found a natural fit with hair transplant surgery and decided to focus 100% of his time in this area.
After an initial hair transplantation fellowship, Dr. Chao studied advanced hair transplantation techniques at a renowned clinic in Beverly Hills, CA. Dr. Chao is also a member of the International Society of Hair Restoration (ISHRS).
